This is beautiful. Colorblind people can see colors that the rest of us have been able see for the first time. It’s a special coating for glasses. I’m going to share this with a colorblind artist that I know. The glasses are $300-400. Hopefully the price will continue to come down. https://youtu.be/ea_xOqNvntA
Really enjoyed a trip to the Biennial Juried Knock on Wood Exhibition at the Bellevue Art Museum yesterday. Garric Simonsen use intaglio (like the old whaler’s scrimshaw) on reclaimed wood from a bowling alley. The work was highly detailed and reminded me of ancient Chinese scrolls. Elaine Hanowell had made this great Crouching Dog. Michael Deforest share his massive Mask work, of which the eye is a small detail, and Helga Turner had her fantastic wood-turned bowls.
I’ve been working on a painting of a turkey and writing papers about Max Ernst and Romans vs Etruscans. I’ll try to post another update soon.
