I’m on break for another week and have had the chance to experiment with gouache. Gouache is an opaque watercolor paint. I’m finding it to be a more natural medium for me than transparent watercolor or oil.
I also had the chance to go to the zoo yesterday so I’m thinking of trying to paint some birds or animals.
Thanks for sharing. I really like the different quality of the light. It gives it a dreamy quality.
Is she from a photograph or your imagination?
I look forward to seeing if the quality is the same if you try painting the birds or animals.
Thanks, Jani. I was working loosely from a tutorial. I do like a dreamy quality to my work though. I’m just finishing a Komodo dragon now.
Try using gouache on a rigid support like gessoboard. 🙂
Thanks, I’m going to try it. I prefer really smooth surfaces, so I think some student canvases that I bought won’t work. My teacher gave me some small Frederix panels. I’m going to try them out. Thanks cavepainter!
