Learning Painting with Gouache

EPSON MFP imageI’m on break for another week and have had the chance to experiment with gouache. Gouache is an opaque watercolor paint. I’m finding it to be a more natural medium for me than transparent watercolor or oil.

I also had the chance to go to the zoo yesterday so I’m thinking of trying to paint some birds or animals.

Thanks for sharing. I really like the different quality of the light. It gives it a dreamy quality.
Is she from a photograph or your imagination?

I look forward to seeing if the quality is the same if you try painting the birds or animals.

Try using gouache on a rigid support like gessoboard. čÖé

Thanks, I’m going to try it. I prefer really smooth surfaces, so I think some student canvases that I bought won’t work. My teacher gave me some small Frederix panels. I’m going to try them out. Thanks cavepainter!
